Almanya Başbakanı Olaf Scholz, ülkesinde nükleer enerjiye dönüş tartışmalarına ilişkin Almanya’da nükleer enerjinin artık kullanılmayacağını belirtti. Scholz, Deutschlandfunk Radyosu’na yaptığı açıklamada, nükleer enerjiye dönüş konusuna değinerek, “Nükleer enerji bitmiştir. Almanya’da artık kullanılmayacak.” ifadesini kullandı. Nükleer enerjinin sonlandırılması kararının yıllar önce alındığını hatırlatan Scholz, “Kanunen aşamalı olarak kaldırıldı. Eğer yeni nükleer santraller inşa etmek isterseniz, bu 15 yıl sürer ve her biri için 15 ila 20 milyar avro harcamanız gerekir.” değerlendirmesinde bulundu.
Scholz, söz konusu enerjinin kullanımının sona ermesiyle nükleer santrallerin sökümünün de başladığını belirterek, “Rüzgar enerjisi, güneş enerjisi, hidroelektrik ve biyokütle enerjisine dayalı bir enerji arzı ile yenilenebilir enerjilerin genişletilmesiyle elektrik ihtiyacımızın yüzde 80’ini ve kısa bir süre sonra da gerekli olanın tamamını karşılamak istiyoruz. Şu anda izlediğimiz yol da budur.” diye konuştu. Almanya’da muhalefet partileri ve koalisyon ortağı Hür Demokrat Parti (FDP), bir süredir nükleer enerjinin kullanılmaya devam edilmesi çağrısında bulunuyor.
